What’s the history of Distinction?
Distinction was founded in 2001 and remains privately-owned and fully independent. Our studio is based in The Lace Market area of Nottingham, with a regional office in Farringdon, Central London. We have clients throughout the UK and Europe, and a few even wider afield than that.
How big is Distinction?
We're a small agency, with big agency quality. We're growing year-on-year, but we don't intend on growing quicker than is manageable.
Our team is very experienced - we only recruit individuals with commercial experience who bring something special to the table. For that reason, your project will always be safe in our hands.
Is there a typical Distinction client?
We work with a diverse client base, from SMEs to Corporates and Charities. We like to work with proactive, forward-thinking organisations as that mirrors the way we work.

What kind of work do we do?
Our range of services covers most aspects of online and traditional media - you could say that we are a 'modern design agency', embracing the new whilst respecting the old.
- Fully integrated - we love to get involved throughout your entire marketing mix, including brand creation, strategy, website design and build and ongoing promotion.
- Web design only - if you've already got the technical side of things arranged, we can work with you on your information architecture and design only.
- Web development only - likewise, you might already have the design sorted, in which case we can work with your team to put your ideas into practice.
- Online marketing - you may have a team of designers and developers in house to look after your website, but lack the skills to effectively market yourselves in an online world. We can help.
Do the directors work with clients?
A common criticism of agencies is that the senior team does the pitching, and once the client signs up, they get fobbed off onto more junior members of staff. That's not how we work.
Our directors are involved on your project throughout, and we make a conscious effort to see our clients face-to-face as often as possible.
