Website redesign and bespoke Kentico CMS development for recruitment company
Goals
Cartwheel have been working with Distinction since their incorporation in 2007 – we created their branding and original website – and although their website had been serving them well, it was time to update it and add some new functionality in the process.
Cartwheel is a leading recruitment company that specialises in management level recruitment for the catering and hospitality industries.
They use a number of specialist recruitment software systems and also publish some of their vacancies on Caterer.com, part of the Total Jobs network. It was important that these systems be better integrated into the website to simplify administration.
Solutions
Kentico CMS was chosen as the ideal solution for their new website, mainly due to it having a large amount of flexibility and an open API. This made communication with the other systems a lot easier.
The site was built using the Portal Engine, and uses Widgets extensively to give the client as much flexibility over their own site content as possible.
Custom document types to make adding new information very easy. The editor can be confident that the pages will all look exactly as planned.
Jobs are stored in a ‘custom table’, and are editable using a private administration area that is only accessible to users with specific roles.
Jobs can be posted directly, using XML, to the Total Jobs network. This allows Cartwheel to halve their administration effort since jobs only need to be added on their own site, which then automatically populates the other sites on the network.
Web analytics has also been integrated to provide detailed tracking of website usage.
Results
The web site has only recently been launched, but feedback from candidates and clients has been very positive.
It’s certainly made the lives of the consultants at Cartwheel a lot easier.
Kentico CMS has proved very popular with the consultants are Cartwheel, by halving their administration time in adding new jobs they can now spend more of their time doing what they enjoy.
