Creative Web Designer ~ Job Description

You will be responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of a website using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge.
You will need to:
- liaise closely with clients and colleagues at the design stage to answer questions such as: why is the site needed? who are the target audience? who are the leading competitors? etc;
- produce a design that will be attractive to the target user, has a logical navigation system and has all the features required;
- write web pages in a combination of codes, including HTML, CSS, and Javascript;
- decide on how images and other material will be digitally optimised and presented for the web;
- ensure that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities;
- test the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions and fix any errors.
You must have working knowledge of graphic design packages such as Fireworks and Photoshop in order to produce basic layouts and manipulate images.
You should have experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript. Flash, Actionscript and a coding language such as ASP/PHP would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have strong creative, layout and conceptual skills and a keen eye for detail.
Hours: 9:00 - 5:00, Mon – Fri, but quite flexible
