Internet sales have reached a new high, but is your website making the most of it?
According to the BBC, consumers spent £7.7bn online in the run-up to Christmas.
That is an increase of 54% from the same period the previous year. Consumers purchased everything from clothing, to toys, to electrical goods.
However, the latest research from Actinic suggests that only 11% of UK businesses with a website are able to process orders online.
The survey also claims that:
75% of retailers who accept mail or telephone orders do not have an eCommerce facility - can you understand that? They've got almost all the infrastructure in place, and are only a small investment away from opening up a new market.
Also note the following:
"On average, companies paid 40% less than expected for their ecommerce solution. The average anticipated cost was £2416, whereas the average price paid was only £1585."
So why are so many SME's missing the boat?
I can't answer that, but what I can do is help those who work with Distinction achieve the best possible results.
